Geriatric Orthopedic Rehab-Basics and Updates
Course Objective:
- Upon Completion of the seminar, each participant will understand the common clinical signs and symptoms of non-mechanical presentations and will integrate appropriate testing in the clinical examination.
- Upon completion of the seminar, each participant will be able to describe the effects of aging on the immune response to injury.
- Upon Completion of the seminar, each participant will be able to describe the effects of aging on muscle structure and functions.
- Upon completion of the seminar, each participant will be able to describe and apply current evidence based application of clinical prediction rules to orthopedic manual therapy in the upper extremities of geriatric populations.
- The participant will be able to apply the general concepts of orthopedic manual therapy to each of the extremity joints for the purpose of appropriate mobilization treatment.
